Tyr'sis comes from a House that escaped the clutches of Lolth and the Underdark drow. Or so they believed... Spending many decades above-ground, the family became far wealthier than a merchant house should in so short of a time. It was only after the number of missing persons from surrounding towns became noticeable to non-humans, that some became suspicious. A trap was laid to catch the perpetrator(s), and once sprung went directly back to Try'sis family. Her family was abducting surface dwellers to sell off as slaves to various races of the Underdark!
Justice (some would call it vengeance) was  swift and merciless for the barely tolerated dark elves. Most of her family were cut down in the ensuing battle, some were captured (only to be tortured, interrogated and publicly executed as a warning to others). Try'sis and a few others were able to escape and fled to the only place that they thought weren't actively hunting them. They were mistaken. It took a matter of days before some unpleasant fate found each one of them.  Being young, healthy, and with some skill in the arcane arts, Try'sis was sold off into slavery.. It only got worse for her from there.

I use 1st person and 3rd person in my dialogue... I know you aren't your character! But we all watch movies, t.v. read fiction where 1st person is used and no one died from it.
