The noble, quite influential house SARANIE is of high standing in Escalot and well known for its possession of several trade ships. They are admired and respected for being successful, relentless, pious and conservative.
House ALEXANDER of Brythonia - way across the seas - shares certain markers with family Saranie, namely a blue-blooded lineage and a business hand in seafaring. There is one notable difference, though: The Alexanders are far less powerful and, behind closed doors, there is rumour of a dark spot in their recent past.
Emmeline hardly mentions her full name to anyone, though. She usually introduces herself by her first name only, but does sign documents with "Saranie" as her last name if required.

A captivating aura of calm, soothing serenity surrounds this young woman whose unobtrusive, gentle demeanour hints at a modest, quiet character not unlikely to tend towards unpretentious compassion and polite attentiveness. Prone to listen carefully and in discreet silence, at times subtly weighing her next words, Emmeline's voice is befittingly soft and warm and more rarely heard than others around her. A mixture of contrasting accents dances through her language, noticeably leaning towards the more refined Brythonian the Andar are known for, but strangely enough with a flourished undertone reminding more of Escalot. Quite lovely to look at, Emmeline's slender form stands at well below average height, usually keeping an upright, well-balanced and secure stance. The petite beauty carries herself with an almost aristocratic elegance, which notably lacks the overdone pride or dramatic gestures that often accompanies such attitude. Her body - clearly leaning towards the fragile in built - moves quite fluently, not without a certain natural grace. Her stride is practised, careful and mindful. Feminine, tastefully understated, often practical garments make up her general attire. Flat soled boots that reach over her kneecaps, several belts with little pouches, loincloths or a sash slung around narrow hips and hanging over snug trousers and an elegant longbow and quiver would all be a common sight on her. She dresses with a natural gift for modest style. Her clothes do not distract from the woman wearing them, but they usually do not expose too much of her skin either. Unsurprisingly, her choice of colours never ranges into the overly gaudy spectrum. Emmeline's filigrane arms are often protected by gloves, some of them leaving her fingertips exposed.
The touch of her skin, should one come into contact with her, is extremely smooth and warm. Some call the faintest trace of her hands a work of miracles. It is describable as tender, relieving of tension or pain, granting a form of delightful peace, maybe even pleasure, that has rightfully been called magical before.
A closer look at Emmeline's fine features compliments what can be observed from afar. Her intensely blue eyes betray a greenish-grey tint reminiscent of the open seas, depending on the light they shimmer in. What is probably most memorable about Emmeline's outward appearance is, that these powerful eyes stand in stark contrast to her full, naturally pouted lips. Her rather serious, contemplative gaze remains forever in opposition to the sensual appearance of her mouth. Almost as if two sides to her fight for the upper hand in an endless battle, immortalized in her face. Long, straight strands of chestnut brown hair frame an elfin head and flow in soft layers around strikingly pronounced clavicles and past a pair of narrow shoulders. Her set of dainty, ever so slightly pointed ears can sometimes be visible depending on how Emmeline wears her hair: It usually lacks all-too-flashy adornments and is either left open or slung up in a loose ponytail or messy bun depending on the situation. The sun-bleached hair tips as well as a honey hue to her otherwise relatively fair complexion hints at some exposure to sun and other elements. Very faint, barely noticeable freckles adorn a delicate, straight and small nose. Standing close to her, one can make out a fresh and clean scent- an inoffensive but distinct aroma of antiseptic citrus with a lingering taste of salty waters.
