Let's start with a bit of lore. Mountain gnomes are a rare sight, since they keep to themself within their home which is located among, or to be more precise, within mountains. Easily mistaken for dwarfs by less expirienced travelers and adventurers they are much taller and broader then any of the other gnome subraces, yet not as bulky, round and tall as dwarfs. Whenever a mountain gnome appears, People often insinuate that they are a rare offspring of a dwarf and a gnome, and some more brave scholars claim that their entire race is of such union forged in the distant past. Yet thats of course is not true, and they are still "just" gnomes. More physicaly focused then any of their cousins, they usually don't get shorter then 4 feet and taller then 4'5 feet and more often then not sporting quite the muscular figure.
Their society is more open then those of the shield dwarfs and since they usually share the same living places, they try to operate on a sort of symbiosis. That agreement turns mountain gnomes into intermediaries for the dwarfs, which allows the latter to keep to their solitude, and gives mountain gnomes a solid position for themself. Those who first meet mountain gnomes be it single individual or visits one of their villages, often mistakes them for being savage, tribal people of some barbaric nature, which of course would be completly wrong. True, they prefer raw look, beauty more closely associated to dwarfs, then that of a fey or elf, but to claim that they are barbaric would be insulting. But why such claims? Well... Mountain gnomes are stubborn people, which just adds another argument for those that connect them to dwarfs, said stubbornness makes them face any kind of danger alone, as they rarely ask others for help and rather solve their own issues with their own resources. And of course living within mountains isn't as safe as one assumes, risk coming not from the outside, but from dangers that lurk within the darkness of the mountains. This causes that every mountain gnome settlement is made into a practical, easy to defend place. That of course the people that live inside those settlements and is mirrored in their attitude towards things like housing, food, clothing and so on. If its edible, its worth eating, if its poisonous, you throw it away. If you're cold, you wear whatever makes you warm, if you're comfortable you don't wear anything. If a house is safe from dangers, its a good enough house, if its not, you need a new house, and so on and etc. And this kind of attitude makes people belive they are more of a barbaric tribe, then any kind of civilized folk Of course that belief changes whenever people meet merchants from their race, visit the local historians and wise man or simply spend enough time to chat with one of them. The first important difference from barbarians is that they are literate, often being able to write and read in a few languages, that being at least their own and common. Second, even though they have peculiar (by other races standards) rules, they are also aware that certain communities outside of theirs have their own laws and you have to understand them and accept them. But simply spending time with them, within their settlements makes one understand, why among drinks and gossips, fighting and brawling is their entertainment. Why they don't decorate their places and why they keep things practical. Its a necessity for them to survive Bellona? She's your typical mountain gnome woman. Proud, stubborn, strong and resourceful, she travels around the world for no real reasos other then to adventure and find reasons to fight, either for friendly spars or to defend those that can't do it themselfs. Being on the shorter side as she's 4'1 feet tall and weighes around 82 pounds. Her skin has darker carnation and is richly painted with various scars located all over her body. She's a natural ginger, her hair being thick, ruffled and messy beyond belief. In terms of hygiene she keeps herself at a basic level of cleanliness, so nothing fancy beyond a bath and to check if her hair is free of any bugs or bats. Since she loves to fight its not rare you might stumble upon her while her being covered in sweat, dirt and mayhap even blood As for details that you might miss, she has green eyes, small nose and thin lips. Within her ruffled hair one could find a pair of round ears Her equipement consists of belts she wears to cover herself within cities, various blades and a bag she carries the most important necessities (The bag not being anywhere present on the model because those colorful bags and so on so don't fit). OOC information For height I used sinfar way of measuring, since it differs a bit from the DnD books (For example halflings being 3'0 and on sinfar 3'5) so there. Also this race was made on the spot, I tried to make it fit in the DnD lore, but if there is some "mountain gnome" race out there well... I had no idea! Lights There is a big list of things I enjoy, but that would take too long to post. I will post my list of lights and say this, she's strong but she's not that clever. Gore, vore, scat, ovipositioning, bug like creatures in erp (Spiders are considered bugs for the sake of this), pregnant sex, sex tells Players dislikes (not erp related) rp fights (Im fine with single rolls, but entire fights are just awkward), lack of consequences, godmoding without permission |
