Hannah was born in the slums of Sinifar City to a prostitute mother who worked at the Trap.  She grew up with little supervision, often existing off the kidness of neighbors when her mother would disappear with a client for days on end.  She was kicked out at 16 after one of her mother's clients forced himself on her and Hannah stabbed him.  Angry and determined to not follow in her mother's footsteps, she left Sinifar City for Algon.  

She worked as a maid in several noble houses to earn foot and lodging.  However, she quickly learned that status and money didn't always improve on the character of those who employed her.  Over the years she learned to use their advances to her advantage.  While she usually didn't sleep with her bosses, she would flirt and charm to earn gifts, jewelry, money and learned to steal from the men when they were distracted by their attraction to her.  The affairs usually ended when their wives would discover their husband's wandering eye and would kick her out of the house.  It was after one such firing that Hannah met Gunnar at a bar in Algon.

Originally taken captive by him, Hannah fell in love with Gunnar of Stonebear Clan and became his mate, as was customary in his tribe.  The two were happy together but nothing Hannah did or said could make Gunnar feel safe in this new realm.

Obsessed with keeping his mate and their future family safe, Gunnar continually purchased and fortified multiple homes.  Despite Hannah's assurances that he had left the terror of his upbringing behind, Gunnar was unable to let it go and continued to take more and more drastic measures.

His last attempt to find the ultimate secure location for them to live ultimately resulted in his untimely death when his flying fortress crashed, killing him and leaving Hannah his widow.  Grief stricken and unable to sleep in their bed without him, Hannah sold their farm, the only home she truly considered theirs, to the first person who showed interest.

For a few years, Hannah found it impossible to connect with people until she met Kregian Balthesus.  Their attraction was instant and intense.  She felt drawn to him and slowly, he became the thing she fell asleep thinking about and woke up with him still on her mind.  They fell in love but his secrets ultimately separated them.  Their last night together he cried into her crimson hair and the sparkle of the devil's tears left behind still glitter in her hair.  When she touches them, she feels their connection and she assumes maybe he can as well.  

The tears are not the only thing that he left behind that night.  Now she waits for him to return so he can meet their daughter, Ariana Elizabeth.  She only hopes that his return comes in this life and not the next so she can see him again and hopes he is next to her each morning when she wakes.
