[Basics]
Name: Alex Beumonte Race: Human Former Profession: Trainee Monster Hunter Current Profession: Vagabond and Drunk Appearance: As Model, but more rugged. [Relics] The Sign of Saints: A holy symbol of a faith from a foreign land, this relic can be used to cause terror or annihilation, when focused upon undead targets. Limited use - The faith and willpower of the user determine how often the holy sign may be used, and without faith it cannot be recharged, unless the energy is taken from elsewhere (Such as energy harvested from the destruction of unholy creatures or relics, combined with a period of reflection and meditation). Extended use by those spiritually unprepared for it can cause wounds to refuse to close. Additionally, it is not perfect: The user's own will determines the potency of the effect and the chance of a specific target resisting the relic's glow, and even with the strongest willed and most faithful of wielders holding the relic, some undead are still unaffected. As of yet this seems to be connected to strength of will as well as other factors, such as morality, allegiance, beliefs, and intelligence of the targets.(Represented by feat: Turn Undead) The Symbol of Saintly Retribution: When used in concert with The Sign of Saints, the energy from that relic can be used to imbue the user's strikes with holy power. The normal risks of using the Sign of Saints for long periods of time still apply, so the user must be either filled with faith and potency of will or willing to accept the consequences. (Represented by Feat: Divine Might) The Symbol of Saintly Protection: When used in concert with the Sign of Saints, the energy from that relic can be used to imbue the user with divine protection. In addition to the normal risks of extended use associated with The Sign of Saints and connected relics, the Symbol of Saintly Protection can cause the spiritually unprepared to become more succeptable to harm between uses of the relic, becoming increasingly dependent upon it to remain safe. (Represented by Feat: Divine Shield, as well as an actual tower shield, scaled down and set to look like a spell effect) The Saint's Chain: This chain whip with a spiked ball on the end is imbued with divine and elemental potency, and can be used to house all other Saint's relics. However, even holding the whip can not only cause the user to experience more severe forms of the drawbacks of the Saint's relics, but also cause physical injury and aging in those who use it without the appropriate willpower and/or faith. A lack of spiritual potency will kill an unprepared user. These effects are far more severe and require far more spiritual strength to prevent in those who are not of the Beaumonte clan... In fact, only two people were known to be able to effectively wield the whip without being blood relations to House Beaumonte... And out of those, both were forced to sacrifice their lives in the end to seal away evil with the weapon. (Represented by item: Custom Whip, Enchanted) The Warlock's Knife: This weapon draws from the strength of it's user's will to duplicate itself within the wielder's hand after being thrown. The original rapidly degrades once it has struck anything, however, which prevents it from being used to create throwing knives to sell. (Represented by item: Dart maker) The Warlock's Handaxe: This weapon draws from the strength of it's user's will to duplicate itself within the wielder's hand after being thrown. The original rapidly degrades once it has struck anything, however, which prevents it from being used to create throwing axes to sell. (Represented by item: Throwing axe maker) Salts of Saint Vincent: The Salts of Saint Vincent are imbued with powerful divine energies that heal the living and harm the undead. These are a holy relic that can be crafted by a lay-person familiar with the patron saint of vampire hunters, and spreading them into a wound causes it to sting, but also to regenerate... while casting into the flesh of the undead causes it to burn them with holy flames. (Represented by feat: Lay on Hands) [OOC: Notes] This is an homage to Castlevania, a series of video games I grew up on... and inspired in part by the Castlevania anime on Netflix and the aftermath implied by it's conclusion. I have however attempted to mold the character's content to better fit a D&D world, albiet one more akin to Darkmist (on Sinfar) or Ravenloft (Specifically Strahd's domain) in tone and nature. Also, this character is bitter, sarcastic, and pessimistic at times, especially when sober and/or hung over. So there's that too. [OOC: Warning to Trolls] If you try to pass of trolling as in-character behavior, I will call you out on it and take appropriate action. Being combative, strange, or insulting in-character is one thing, using RP to justify trolling performed via such methods is a completely different thing. You have been warned. [OOC: Lights] Red: ERP with no plot or RP background Yellow: ERP supported by plot or RP. Green: N/A |
