At one time Rurik was a Pirate, raiding the coasts quite successfully until he was caught and hung in Iracia. His story did not end there though, a necromancer found his body and raised him as a mercenary and spy.

Most often seen working near the docks of Iracia and Sinfer, he's usually wearing a dark set of blue and black leather armor or tattered rags that wouldn't look out of place on a poor sailor.

Physically he's not as an imposing site at first, short in stature, missing his lower jaw, and adorned with an eye patch, hook hand, and a carved whalebone peg for a leg. But any time spent in his presence hints at there being more than meets the eye with him.
