Galdur was trained in the far flung empire of Atalic where he rose to the ranks of the Empire Sentinels.

In Atalic, monks are not the those that take part in silent contemplation, nor were they ones that solemly train their bodies in secluded monestaries. In the Empire, the government and religion were one, and the Sentinels were guardians, enforcers, lawkeepers, and when necessary, executors.

The Atalic Empire ruled with an iron fist over its conqurered lands, and Galdur was at the forefront of the battles. He consider himself a "negotiator". However instead of talking to the leaders, his duty was more to cower the populace into submission. To secure the loyality of city leaders, the Sentinels would often capture daughters, sons, and loved ones of prominent city leaders, training them to be slaves; with the threat of them becoming a public spectacle if the cities step out of line. Punishment in Atalic usually meant enslavement and public humiliation, temporary for minor crimes, permanant for serious crimes, and in extreme cases an entire household could become slaves.

Training as a Sentinel was brutal and harsh, few chose the life, rather they were brought up in the training halls from a young age. Each is trained by a Master or a MIstress, to serve them duitfuly, learning to become a dominant on their own, and serve the Empire. Galdur's former Mistress was a cruel but passionate tiefling hermaphrodite whom he loved and served dutifully before graduating to be a Master on his own.

Galdur excelled at his duty and enjoyed it quite a bit. The opportunity to dominate so many and so brutally was a task he trained a lifetime for. He had never considered leaving the Empire, nor had he considered any other form of employment. However the internal politics of the Empire were quite complex, promotion came through assassination as often as it did through reckonition of good work.

Galdur's protege, trained himself in the arts of combat and sexuality, murdered Galdur's own Mistress, framining him for the murder. Enslavement for crime was not an option for Sentinels, as they have been trained to endure and too dangerous to keep alive. His only choice was to escape into exile or be executed. After years of travel he has finally come to a place where noone has heard the name Atalic, a place where he can start anew.
