The world flipped Laura's entirety on it's head when her sorcerous might reached it's maturity.  The more she practiced, the more things began to change, and the powers she thought she had mastered soon proved otherwise.  Mutations soon wrought her body, growing in from nothingness and changing the very shape that she had come to know and treasure.   Change... Just as she would grasp, pull and squeeze at the reality around her, so too now did reality respond.   Thick, bone horns grew from the top of her girlish head.  Claws, bold and sharp spanned from her fingers, her teeth grew sharp and monstrous and her eyes deepened from a blue, innocent hue to that of blood.

Scales grew in places, intermittent, but present and her skin was forced to stretch and contort around muscles that had begun to thicken and swell.   There were times she wondered if she would survive, if some foul magics had need of her in the hells below or the heavens above.    One day waking the blurry vision it was clear that she was yet destined to dwell on materia - naked and alone, covered in her own sweat and blood... But alive.   A skin once pale and devoid of sunlight had turned pink, and a pair of great wings, mighty and bold, had torn through her scapular... she had metamorphosed like caterpillar to butterfly...  Though the butterfly she had become had much more bite.
