Possessed of a rough and surly demeanor, Strauss is both tall and rugged in appearance. His figure speaks of a lifetime of hardship and toil, carved from a base accustomed to heavy labor.

Coarse, thick hair frames a face that may have once been considered handsome, ashen brown in color.  Peppered among the wavy locks are strands of gray, despite the relative youth of the man. Heavy brows loom over eyes of a rich amber, often times drawn together in a dour expression. Cleaving a jagged path from left brow to right cheek, a scar mars his features. Another runs the length of his cheek down to his jaw. It left a clean line through the otherwise thick layer scruff left unshaven upon his jawline.

On the occasion one might catch glimpse of his arms while bare, it became apparent the markings upon his face were the rule and not the exception. Most often, however, he was donned in dark and practical clothing. His attire was well-worn, threadbare in places and tattered in others. Extravagance was not a word that seemed to be among Strauss' vocabulary. Instead, world weary and worn-out seemed more appropriate descriptors.

The sole piece of decoration or jewelry which seemed to be kept upon his person was a ring. A simple, old and battered band of iron with a faded inscription upon its surface and kept around his neck on a string of leather.

Strauss' manner of speech spoke to an education gained from the streets and fields. His voice a guttural tone colored by years of alcohol and tobacco.

On the odd occasion, one might happen to glimpse canines or incisors which appeared too sharp when speaking. Under heavy scrutiny, the same could be said for his fingernails, in fact. Put under the correct lighting, his eyes seemed to have a strange, yellow glint to them...

The scent of smoke, leather and damp forest all clung close to him and his belongings.
