The only surviving member of a now extinct house, Alaun'rahel, uses the magic of the arcane instead of the magic of the divine. If this was some design of of Lolth's or not.....only the Goddess knows.

The Matron of her house was a calculating woman who never let a potential resource go to waste, no matter how odd. In Lolth favor at the time and with several powerful priestesses in service to the house a unique house insignia was made this gave Alaun'rahel the appearance and sound of a male so that she could go to Sorcere to learn to use her arcane power and to also gather information on the male mages of the other houses that could be used later in future plans.

After 30 years of suffering, learning and some well executed assassinations of powerful mages from rival houses. Alaun'rahel was ready to return to her house and lave behind the façade of being a lowely male behind. However Lolth had other plans for her. She was ambushed by shadow figures who, under orders from Lolth, had know who and what she truely was.

She was given a choice to join them or die with the rest of her house, who was going to be destroyed soon. Livnig so serve her goddess was her driving force to endure the Sorcere in the first place, so it wasn't hard to make the choice to join the group, who turn out to be the 'Handmaidens of Lolth'.

Her first act was to help destroy the house that put her in Sorcere to begin with. She did this with rather easily with the help of her new 'sisters'. For 80 years Amusda lived the life of a Handmaiden delivering Lolth's vengeance to all deserved it. That was until she was sucked into a planar portal by a surfacer mage who she was sent to kill for setting foot into the underdark unannounced.

She now finds herself on the world of Sinfar searching for a way home to her sisters. The fact she still hears Lolth's song gives her some satisfaction.
