A great big burly sailor, with arms like mainmasts and a gut like a great big barrel of rum, both in content, and in size.

The man wears a scarf across his mouth at all times, turning away from those gathered to slip his bottle - always a bottle, never a glass - under it to tip the content down his gullet.  He appears to be some manner of mute, communicating basic ideas through grunting and pointing; and anything more complest through a complex but rapid pantomime and gesturing session to his companion and translator, Little Jim.
