Sunny Cheeks, named for her cheerful smile, was born into her perfect life as a merry-maker to the Goblin king. Her voice was horrid, but her acrobatics and pratfalls were always a draw. Her life changed when a wounded orc came upon her tribe's cave. Her king slain, Sunny became the "merry-maker" of the new ruler.

The warlord Grob enjoyed the company of his spirited goblin concubine for many moons. The low status orc had made himself king after bullying a local tribe of goblins into subserviance. As rumors one day spread of a cursed Nilbog among his bullied servants, Grob grew paranoid as he attempted to flush out the evil spirit. As Grob's luck plummeted, Goblin after goblin was executed until Grob found himself only with Sunny.

Seeing his little paradise was only a brief vacation, Grob returned with the spoils of the cave and his goblin pleasure toy to his old orcish clan. The warchief was displeased with Grob's desertion, but allowed him back in after taking his offerings. Grob's return was shortlived, the orc soon after being beheaded in a freak cake-based accident that was remembered fondly by all.

Sunny took quickly to her new role among the orcs, taking the fate of being surrounded by many more muscly and hairy Grobs as a blessing. She quickly foget of her old tribe as she honed all of her acrobatic skills on stage or in the bedroom. Again a rash of oddly humorous deadly accidents continued, the Warchief unable to grasp any possible cause.

One morning, Sunny awoke to find she was alone in the cave. All the orcs were dead or deserted. Her feelings hurt, Sunny moved on to travel to the nearest civilization, unaware of all manner of strange coincidences and mishaps around her.
